Seminar series for women
I run a series of half-day seminars that can be
tailored to suit the specific needs of women in
your organisation.
Stepping Up, Stepping Out!
Many women are unclear about how to advance their
careers effectively. Drawing on my own and other
current research I lead a stimulating and interactive
seminar that explores -
- factors that impede and facilitate women's advancement
- how men and women manage their careers
- traps to watch out for
- what it takes to succeed in the environmental
context
- the need for strategic planning - and the beginning
of a plan!
Bargaining Success: How Women can
Master the Negotiation Minefield!
Whether it’s negotiating greater flexibility
at work, a promotion, a pay rise, a contract with
a new client or a bigger role in decision making,
women often inadvertently undervalue themselves
and their power and tend to come away with less
than their male colleagues. During this dynamic
workshop, I will explore how women can -
- recognise and successfully take advantage of
a negotiating pportunity
- stay out of their own way
- uncover hidden agendas
- build a winning negotiation strategy
- bargain with success!
Saving Time, Savouring Success
This seminar uncovers common ways women undermine
their effectiveness. I share practical strategies
and tools that will provide women with greater leverage
and enhanced success at work. The session explores
how women can more effectively -
- manage upwards
- prepare for and participate in meetings
- give and receive feedback
- be recognised for their contribution!
We're not Good Girls and we're not
Perfect!
Over the years women internalise messages that
impede their ability to be truly effective at work
and in their lives. During this workshop I explore
these limiting self-beliefs and provide more useful
alternatives. This session covers -
- letting go of perfectionism
- dealing effectively with conflict
- the difference between confidence and competence
(and why it matters)
- claiming voice, claiming power!
Two-day workshop - Women Leading with Influence
A popular program for women facing workplace issues
and a sympathetic forum for honest and open communication
that continues after the workshop.
This program is for women wishing to -
- enhance their performance and profile
- claim their personal power
- increase their sphere of influence
- accelerate their careers
- achieve extraordinary results.
It can be combined with individual coaching to
maintain focus and enhance results.
Communication workshops
Speak Up! Speak Out!
Assertive communication ensures honest, open and
collaborative relationships, but not everyone knows
how to do it - or is game to try.
In this one-day interactive workshop, we explore
-
- the difference between aggressive behaviour,
submissive behaviour and assertive behaviour
- the benefits of assertive communication
- how to say no and live through it!
- how to give and receive honest, relevant and
effective feedback
- how to get heard and be noticed.

personal and professional application"

do for everyone in my organisation!"
Assertive Negotiations
A "life-changing" two-day interactive
workshop that teaches participants -
- how to recognise and successfully take advantage
of a negotiating opportunity
- the importance of understanding the environmental
and personal context within which you are operating
- how self beliefs and values affect a negotiation
outcome
- the difference between aggressive, submissive
and assertive behaviour
- strategies that will help you improve your outcomes.
Gender Blender – How to talk
and be heard
Learn how to communicate effectively with your
peers, your boss, your staff - even when they are
the opposite sex.
This workshop comprises theory, discussion, role
plays and a video on gender communication. It explores
–
- the way men and women use language to establish
status and connection
- the differences between aggressive, submissive
and assertive behaviour - and why it matters
- the concept of self-confidence
It helps women develop linguistic power so they
can –
- better communicate with men and women at all
levels
- develop better teams, and
- effectively manage their careers.
Diversity workshops
I tailor interactive in-house diversity awareness
workshops that explore –
- the dimensions of diversity
- the dynamics of diversity
- strategies to leverage diversity.
Team-building workshops
“It is time to become passionate about
what’s best in us, and to create organisations
that welcome our creativity, contribution and compassion.
We do this by using processes that bring us together
to talk to one another, listen to one another’s
stories, reflect together on what we’re learning
as we do our work. We do this by developing relationships
of trust, where we do what we say, where we speak
truthfully, where we refuse to act from petty self
interest.” - Margaret Wheatley.
Building teams is not about playing games. It’s
about focusing on our shared purpose - what we have
in common, not on our differences. It’s about
recognising we have shared commitments and concerns.
I help teams coalesce around a shared purpose,
a common vision. My objective is to -
- inspire, energise and invigorate team members
- identify shared commitments and concerns between
and among all members
- provide clarity about roles, responsibilities
and contribution
- enhance the leadership skills of the individuals
and group
- build trust and rapport between members of the
group
- highlight new skills and techniques for achieving
outcomes
- optimise the potential of every individual and
of the team
- determine internal systems and processes that
will support them in achieving outcomes.
