Privacy policy
Trust, credibility
and a reputation for honesty are among
an organisation's most valuable assets in the relatively
faceless online world.
Privacy is a basic human right and
we guarantee that any information you divulge to us
is kept in strict confidence.
We do not provide (share, sell or rent) this information
to anyone without your permission.
That's a promise.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will
only use the information that we collect about you lawfully.
We collect information about you for two reasons -
to process your orders, personalise your content and
to provide you with the best possible service.
We will not email you unless you have given us your
consent and then only for as often as specified (eg
monthly e-newsletters).
The type of information we will collect about you may
include
- your name
- address
- phone number
- email address
- job function or title
- organisation type
- gender
- age
- city
- country
We will never collect sensitive information about
you without your explicit consent.
The information we hold will be accurate and up to
date. You can check the information we hold about you
by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will
delete or correct it promptly.
The personal information we hold will be held securely
in accordance with our internal security policy and
the law.

We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour
of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie"
which would be stored on your browser. You can usually
modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information
collected in this way can be used to identify you unless
you modify your browser settings.
Server statistics
Our site logs information about you that is automatically
recognised by our Internet Service Provider's web server
(eg your IP address, browser type). Your IP address
is used to gather broad demographic information to help
us analyse web traffic (eg measure the number of visitors
to our site and the most popular pages). The information
is also used for technical administration of the site
as well as research and development of new services.
Email addresses and other personally identifiable information
are not available to us.
External links
This site will contains many links to other sites. We
are not responsible for the privacy practices or the
content of such sites.
Email links
In various places on our site, you'll find links for
sending us an email message. We use your email address
to send you a reply and we will retain your message
only for later referral should you decide to contact
us again. Your message and email address remain confidential
unless you specifically give us permission otherwise.
Email newsletter
We make available an opt-in email newsletter. Subscription
to our newsletter is optional and requires your consent.
You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in the
newsletter or by emailing deborah@deborahmay.com
Order/booking form
Our site uses order/booking forms for you to request
products and services. We collect your contact information
(eg email address, phone number) to contact you in case
of changes to product or event details (eg date, time,
venue). Any other information we collect (eg job title)
is used as research and to help develop future services.
Secure payment
Our site includes a link to a third-party provider -
www.paymate.com.au
- for secure online payments and direct deposits. Your
credit card and bank account details are not displayed
to us. All online financial transactions with us are
undertaken via the Paymate service. Paymate use several
mechanisms to protect the security and integrity of
your personal information, including using the financial
industry's Secure Socket Layer (SSL) standards with
128-bit encryption. You should check that your browser
is compatible with SSL encryption. This is often indicated
by a 'closed lock' icon at the bottom of your screen.
Paymate transfers financial data securely into the
Australian payments clearing system via dedicated telecommunications
lines and proprietary banking software to ensure the
integrity of its direct debit and credit payments. Credit
card payments are processed similarly.
Paymate employs qualified, independent auditors to
review its security standards and practices on a regular
basis to ensure that its software, operational practices
and management controls meet the stringent standards
of the Australian financial industry.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet
can be guaranteed as completely secure. So while Paymate
strives to protect such information, it cannot ensure
or warrant the security of any information you transmit
and you do so at your own risk. Once your personal information
comes into Paymate's possession, they will take reasonable
steps to protect that information from misuse and loss
and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Online surveys
Our online surveys will ask for contact information
(eg email address) to contact you when necessary (eg
if you win a prize). Any other information collected
(eg job title) is used for research to help improve
and develop services.
Public forums
A chat room, message boards or web logs may become available
to site visitors. Please remember that any information
disclosed in these areas becomes public information

the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under
our control. Only authorised employees have access to
the information you provide us. We have implemented
technology and security policies, rules and measures
to protect the personal data under our control from
unauthorised access, improper use, alteration, unlawful
or accidental destruction and loss. We will continue
to enhance our security procedures as new technology
becomes available.
User ID
You are ultimately responsible for the security of your
client log in and password. Please take care when using
and storing them - do not divulge your password to anyone.
You should log out of your browser at the end of each
computer session to ensure others can't access your
personal information and correspondence, especially
if you share a computer or use a computer in a public
place (eg library or Internet café).
